This year's edition of Wimbledon is just days away, and marketing for the event is in full flow. ESPN's latest promo, however, has come under fire for snubbing 2022 champion Elena Rybakina. Other stars, including Naomi Osaka and Frances Tiafoe, made the cut, but the Kazakh was nowhere to be found.

Rybakina, the World No. 4, recently retired from her quarterfinal at the Ecotrans Ladies Open in Berlin owing to abdominal pain. She later withdrew from the Rothesay International Eastbourne as well. However, Rybakina is all set to take part in Wimbledon, as she was seen training and greeting Novak Djokovic recently.

Rybakina and Djokovic have faced a snub from ESPN. The stars who have got a feature on the video include Aryna Sabalenka, Carlos Alcaraz, Coco Gauff, Osaka, Tiafoe, and Jannik Sinner.

Fans expressed their disappointment after noticing Rybakina's snub.

"Rybakina is still snubbed," one fan wrote.

Several fans mentioned that it was a recurring theme.

"So rybakina is snubbed in every Wimbledon promo so far," one fan wrote.
"Where is elena ???? for the 2nd time in 2 trailers there is no elena . are they strategically targeting her just because she was born in russia??? . this is beyond shameful," another fan wrote.

Some fans claimed the players featured could have been replaced with others.

"Imagine not being mentioned while Osaka and Tiafoe are," one fan wrote.
"Some of the names they dropped here are a bit random," another fan wrote.
"Osaka getting more pub than Rybakina ? Just bulletin board material for Elena," wrote yet another.

Elena Rybakina has had a fantastic year, with multiple titles under her belt. She began the year with an impressive title win in the Brisbane International. She won another title in February, the Mubadala Abu Dhabi Open. In April, she defeated the likes of Iga Swiatek and Marta Kostyuk to win the Porche Tennis Grand Prix in Stuttgart.

However, throughout the season, she has faced multiple health issues. Due to gastrointestinal illness, she had to withdraw from three tournaments, the Dubai Tennis Championships, the BNP Paribas Open in Indian Wells, and the Italian Open.

Most recently, following a quarterfinal exit at the French Open, Elena Rybakina began her grass court season in Berlin. She was facing Victoria Azarenka in the quarterfinals but had to retire from the match due to abdominal issues.

Furthermore, she withdrew from the tournament in Eastbourne due to a change in schedule. This, however, does not affect her Wimbledon participation. The draw takes place on June 28 and the tournament begins on July 1.
