Coco Gauff recently appeared in a segment where she rated how upset she'd be if another girl hugged her boyfriend. Gauff was shown different types of hugs and ranked them from 1 to 10.

Gauff is set to begin her US Open campaign on Monday, August 26, and ahead of her title defense at the Major, she indulged in a fun session she shared with her followers on TikTok.

"I am gonna rate how mad I would be if somebody, a girl of my boyfriend like this," Gauff said at the start of the clip.

Gauff then reacted to different types of hugs. She revealed that she’d be fine if she saw her boyfriend in a patting hug, polite hug, group hug, or side hug with another girl.

Here are a few of her reactions:

"Patting Hug, I wouldn't be mad because like your grandfather died or something like this. So I am gonna go with 10."
"Side Hug, that's cool. I think that is respectful but not too long now."
"Polite Hug, okay, okay that's cool that's cool."

Gauff claimed she’d be furious if he was involved in a cuddle, a "catcher" hug, an eye-to-eye hug, or a waist hug with someone else.

"Cuddle, no, no 1. Heck no."
"The Catcher Hug, no, because what? why you jumping up on him? No."
"The hug at the waist, no."

Earlier this year, Gauff announced that she had been in a relationship for about a year, though she chose not to reveal her boyfriend's identity.

Coco Gauff won her first Grand Slam title at the US Open last year. However, her preparation for this year's edition has been less than ideal with early exits in the Canadian Open and the Cincinnati Open.

The 20-year-old will enter the US Open as the third seed, behind Aryna Sabalenka and Iga Swiatek. Gauff will begin her campaign against Varvara Gracheva, marking their second meeting on the WTA tour. Their previous encounter was in the quarterfinal of the 2024 ASB Classic, where the American convincingly won in straight sets.

If Gauff wins her first-round match, she will face the winner of the match between Tatjana Maria and Solana Sierra in the next round. The defending champion could meet No. 27 seed Elina Svitolina in the third round.
