Rafael Nadal hysterically overshadowed Carlos Alcaraz in a post-match interview at the Six Kings Slam in Riyadh. The 38-year-old, who has announced that he would retire from tennis after the Davis Cup knockouts, faced a 3-6, 3-6 defeat against Alcaraz in the semifinals of the exhibition tournament in Riyadh.

Following their match in Riyadh, both players were scheduled to meet reporters for their respective post-match conferences. Tennis Channel shared a video where Alcaraz was seen entering the room while Nadal was leaving. The 38-year-old was then mobbed by reporters wanting his autograph while Alcaraz entered and sat all by himself, when one reporter clicked a selfie with him.

The reporter later thanked the World No. 2 for the selfie, stating:

"Firstly, everyone was swarming around Rafa, so thank you for the selfie, because you were just there by yourself. So I was able to get that. Thank you," said the reporter.

Rafael Nadal opened up about Carlos Alcaraz's form in a post-match on-court interview after his loss at the Six Kings Slam. He lauded his family and his team for providing support to the 21-year-old and revealed that he will always be ready to guide him whenever needed.

"I think he doesn't need much advice. He has a great team next to him and a great family so I think he is going to be very well . He's learning all the time and we can see that he's evolving in every single way. But of course I will be ready anytime he wants to call me,” Rafael Nadal said.

In the same interview, he also revealed that when he first heard about Alcaraz, he knew that the player has something 'special.'

"Well, when you are in the world of tennis, when somebody is coming from the same country as you and he's winning, he's special. I mean the people were telling me that somebody very good is coming now but of course I didn't have the chance to watch him play till I was practicing with him in Australia I think in 2021 something like this. Even though he was very young, you see things that you don't see in others, you can see it."

Rafael Nadal will next be competing against Novak Djokovic in the third-place play-off on October 19, after the Serbian player faced a loss against Jannik Sinner in the semi-finals at the Six Kings Slam.
