Nick Kyrgios recently shared a few glimpses of his interview with John McEnroe. The American spoke about various topics, including being called superbrat and pursuing things he initially felt he would not pursue.

Kyrgios and McEnroe both commentated during the recently-concluded Wimbledon Championships. The Aussie, who has not played a single tennis match since June 2023, spoke to the former World No. 1 in "Good Trouble with Nick Kyrgios", and shared a clip that had various answers from the latter.

McEnroe, who was called Superbrat due to his on-court antics, called it the "worst godda*n name".

"I was like 'Superbrat, that's got to be the worst goddamn name I have to put up with this s*** for the rest of my life," the 65-year-old said.

The former World No. 1 said that he did things he initially vowed not to do, including playing tennis at a senior level and commentating on the sport.

"Pretty much everything that I said I wouldn't do, I have done. I'll never play seniors tennis, never commentate. I wouldn't be caught dead doing that," John McEnroe said.

The seven-time Grand Slam singles champion also spoke about how he reacted when there were suggestions to suspend him for one year.

"They were telling me, 'Get rid of them, suspend the guy for a year.' I'm like, 'Suspend me for a year?' I'm the best f***ing thing you have,'" McEnroe said.

He also stated:

"I think ultimately, you know this, you have to be yourself."

The video ends with John McEnroe saying one of his most iconic lines on a tennis court.

"You cannot be serious."

In an interview with Piers Morgan a few days back, Nick Kyrgios said that at his best, he would have comfortably defeated John McEnroe. The Aussie said that he had his reservations about the American returning his serve, considering the likes of Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic struggled against him.

“That’s an easy walk for me. I think so… I’m serving pretty big. I mean, it’s a different era… I mean, (Roger) Federer, (Rafael) Nadal and Novak (Djokovic) have struggled. So, I don’t know how McEnroe is going to go against returning my serve," Kyrgios said.

John McEnroe had a pretty successful tennis career, during which, he won seven Grand Slam singles title. Three of these came at Wimbledon while four came at the US Open.

The American also won ten doubles Majors, nine in men's singles and one in mixed doubles in 1977.
