Stefanos Tsitsipas has heaped praise on the way former American player Jim Courier goes about commentating during matches. However, it was soon pointed out that the Greek star's words were unbelievably similar to those of a tennis analyst, after which, fans criticized the World No. 3 for plagiarism.

Courier, 52, turned pro in 1988 and retired in 2000. He won four Grand Slam titles, including two Australian Opens and two French Open trophies. The former American World No. 1 started working as a commentator in 2005.

Vansh, a tennis analyst, recently hailed Courier for his in-depth research on matches and critical analysis of the sport in general. This was followed by Stefanos Tsitsipas almost replicating Vansh's words to laud Courier's style of breaking down the game for viewers.

"Jim Courier's tennis commentary is a pleasure to listen to. His impressive combination of understanding, analysis, empathy, and humility is always backed by thorough preparation. He breaks down the game in a way that's both impressive and inspiring," Tsitsipas wrote.

Australian player John Millman poked fun at Tsitsipas by changing a few words in Courier's appreciation.

Fans slammed the 24-year-old Greek for not being authentic.

"Since Tsitsipas seems to plagiarize pretty much anyone on Twitter, why doesn’t he plagiarize Wawrinka’s backhand on court?" a fan tweeted.
"When you cheat off your friend's homework but they tell you to “switch it up a little” so y’all don’t get caught," a user wrote.
"He has copied so many „quotes“ or „jokes“ from other people or pages that it is already a state of art. A criticism of the neo-liberal freedom of speach in times of woke expressionism as the great thinker Stefanos would probably say himself," another tweet read.
