Canadian tennis star Eugenie Bouchard recently shared pictures of herself on the court with her beloved grandmother. Bouchard took to the practice court despite withdrawing from the 2023 Indian Wells Open.

Bouchard skyrocketed to fame in 2014, reaching the semifinals of both the Australian Open and the French Open. The former World No. 5 then made history as the first Canadian player to reach the final of a Grand Slam tournament, the 2014 Wimbledon Championships.

Despite her valiant efforts, she ultimately fell short of the title, succumbing to Petra Kvitova in straight sets. Nevertheless, Bouchard's remarkable achievements cemented her place in Canadian tennis history.

On March 6, Eugenie Bouchard shared a photo of a practice tennis court, accompanied by a caption that mentioned a "special ball girl" who was present to assist her during her practice session.

"Got a special ball girl in town 💕," Bouchard wrote on her Instagram story.

On February 24, Eugenie Bouchard celebrated her 29th birthday alongside her twin sister Beatrice for the first time in eight years. Taking to social media, she shared pictures of the joyous occasion.

"Celebrating our bday together for the first time in 8 years," she captioned the post.

For many years, Eugenie and Beatrice had a strained relationship due to being separated at a very young age following their parents' divorce. Beatrice went to live with their father and Eugenie stayed with their mother.

This sudden separation had a profound impact on the sisters' relationship, leaving them feeling disconnected and isolated from one another.

In an interview in 2021, Beatrice reflected on her relationship with her sister, noting that they were far from a "simple, happy, perfect family."

"We are definitely not a simple, happy, perfect family. Even anything but that. Our parents got divorced, they weren't happy with each other. Genie was with my mother for most of her life from then on. Myself, our siblings Charlotte and William with my father. So we grew up separately," Beatrice said.

But the twin sisters seem to be making up for lost time now, and will be hoping to celebrate many more birthdays together in the future.
