Coco Gauff couldn’t hide her excitement as she boarded a high-speed train in China for the first time since her childhood, marking a thrilling start to her 2024 Wuhan Open campaign. Fresh off her triumphant victory at the China Open, Gauff shared a glimpse of her journey from Beijing to Wuhan with her fans.

Gauff recently clinched her eighth WTA title and her second WTA 1000 title by defeating Karolina Muchova 6-1, 6-3. This win not only added another prestigious title to her growing collection but also propelled her back into the top four of the WTA rankings.

After receiving a bye in the first round, the American tennis star overcame Clara Burel 7-5, 6-3, and then dispatched the 26th seed Katie Boulter 7-5, 6-2. A walkover against Naomi Osaka gave her a brief respite before she faced Yulia Starodubtseva, whom she defeated 2-6, 6-2, 6-2.

Gauff’s resilience shone through in her quarterfinal match against the 15th seed Paula Badosa, where she came from behind to win 4-6, 6-4, 6-2. Her final victory over Muchova was the crowning achievement of a stellar tournament run.

Amidst her busy schedule, Gauff found a moment to share her excitement with her fans on social media. On October 7, Gauff posted an Instagram story featuring a picture of herself comfortably seated on the high-speed train, dressed in casual attire. She captioned the photo:

"First time on a high-speed train since I was a kid. They are so cool lol. Also, this is my last stop in China."
