Michael Mmoh recently experienced an earthquake for the first time, during a live interaction with Matthew Ebden. The American said that he got very scared.

Ebden appeared on Tennis Channel for a remote interview ahead of his Cincinnati Open campaign with Rohan Bopanna. Mmoh joined Geoffrey Chizever and Nicholas Monroe as the trio grilled the Aussie about his experience at the prestigious event.

The men's doubles gold medalist, along with John Peers, was detailing his experience. While Ebden was speaking, Tennis Channel studio, which is in California, was struck by an earthquake.

Ebden, who was in Cincinnati and not aware of it, went on with his answer. Monroe later informed the Aussie about the earthquake.

"By the way when you were talking, we just had a huge earthquake," Monroe told Ebden.

Chizever told the viewers about the earthquake and asked Mmoh about his thoughts.

"4.7 was the Richter scale on that earthquake and epicenter was Pasadena. I am a California kid so I have been through a lot of earthquakes let’s just get your (Mmoh) thoughts how do you feel?"

The American joked that he was used to hurricanes as he was a Floridian but had never experienced an earthquake. He said:

"I didn’t know what was going to happen. I was very scared. I don’t know how you guys had a question after that. All I could think about was getting to safety," Mmoh said.

Mmoh later took to Instagram to share his reaction to the earthquake.

"Shooook," he wrote.

“We’re just in disbelief, Todd and Mark (Woodbridge) have both been coaches and mentors for both of us, but for me personally to win gold for us and the country is amazing. We’ll be talking about this until we’re 100 years old.

Ebden added that he was proud to be an Australian and was grateful to be adopted by the country he moved to when he was young.

I moved to Australia when I was younger and Australia has adopted me. I think it’s the greatest country on earth and I’m so happy to be called an Australian," Ebden said.

Matthew Ebden, partnering with Rohan Bopanna, will begin the Cincinnati Open campaign against Arthur Fils and Nicolas Jarry.
