Pam Shriver has shared her thoughts on the upcoming 2024 United States presidential election, comparing it to the 1980 election and suggesting that Kamala Harris is the only stable choice for her children. With the 2024 US presidential election set for November 5, tensions are high across America as citizens show their support for their preferred candidate.

On Saturday, Shriver took to X (formerly Twitter) to express her support for Harris. She reflected on how, at age 18, during the 1980 election between Republican candidate Ronald Reagan and Democratic candidate Jimmy Carter, there were two decent candidates.

“I recall in 1980 at 18 years of age I had a choice to vote for Carter or Reagan- two decent stable candidates for President,” Pam Shriver said.

She then brought the conversation to the present day, mentioning that her three children are now old enough to vote for the first time and, in her view, Kamala Harris is the only decent choice available to them.

“Now in 2024 my 3 kids can vote for president for 1st time and they only have one decent and stable choice. @KamalaHarris”

Shriver married Australian actor George Lazenby in 2002. Although they got divorced in 2011, they had three children together: George Samuel Lazenby, born in 2004, and twins Kaitlin Elizabeth Lazenby and Samuel Robert Lazenby, born in 2005.

Shriver, who was inducted into the WTA Hall of Fame in 2002, enjoyed a highly decorated career. She won 112 doubles titles, including 21 Grand Slams, and won 21 singles titles during her nearly two-decade career. She also took home the gold medal in doubles at the 1988 Seoul Olympics, partnering with Zina Garrison.
