Jannik Sinner enjoyed his girlfriend Anna Kalinskaya’s support from up close during his recent match at the 2024 China Open. The Russian tennis player sat courtside with her coach as the World No. 1 punched his ticket to the semifinals.

Sinner, the defending champion in Beijing, has advanced to the final four for the second year running. Following his comeback victories against Nicolas Jarry (4-6, 6-3, 6-1) and Roman Safiullin (3-6, 6-2, 6-3), he beat Czech player Jiri Lehecka 6-2, 7-6 (6) in their quarterfinal matchup on Monday, September 30.

The two-time Grand Slam champion was cheered on by his team, which includes his long-time coach Simone Vagnozzi, fitness coach Marco Panichi, and physiotherapist Ulises Badio, who recently joined the team after the player fired two of his team members involved in the doping tests saga.

While the coaching team supported Jannik Sinner from the player’s box, his girlfriend Anna Kalinskaya secured a special seat courtside with her coach, Patricia Tarabini. The World No. 14, who is also competing at the China Open, was captured by the fans present at the stadium.

Sinner and Kalinskaya, who made their relationship public in May this year, have also been spotted by their supporters at practice sessions during their ongoing campaign in Beijing. A few days back, the couple shared a romantic kiss before the former’s match. Anna Kalinskaya also adorably sported a tote bag with Jannik Sinner’s name imprinted on it during her on-court session.

While Jannik Sinner has already reached the semifinals of the ATP 500 China Open, Anna Kalinskaya is bidding for a spot in the quarterfinals at the WTA 1000 event.

She received a bye in the first round and dismissed American Hailey Baptiste with a thrilling 3-6, 7-6 (2), 7-6 (5) win in her second-round match. She progressed to the Round of 16 with a 3-6, 6-3, 3-1 (ret.) scoreline against yet another American, Peyton Stearns, on Monday.

Kalinskaya faces Ukraine’s Yulia Starodubtsewa for a spot in the final eight on Tuesday, October 1. The Russian, who made her maiden WTA 1000 final earlier this year in Dubai, is chasing her maiden tour-level title at the event.

Sinner, meanwhile, is in pursuit of a seventh title this season and third at the ATP 500 level. He is set to lock horns with China’s Bu Yunchaokete on Tuesday.

Bu created a buzz at the recently concluded Hangzhou Open by reaching his maiden ATP semifinal, only to replicate the result a week later by beating Andrey Rublev in the China Open quarterfinal.
