Iga Swiatek's ex-coach Tomasz Wiktorowski has broken his silence and clarified whether the Pole's sports psychologist, Daria Abramowicz, played any role in their split. His comments come weeks after their separation and, amid rumors that Abramowicz influenced the decision.

Earlier this month, Iga Swiatek announced her decision to part ways with coach Tomasz Wiktorowski after three years together. Wiktorowski, who joined her team in 2022, played a key role in guiding the World No. 1 to four Grand Slam titles, including three consecutive French Open victories, the 2022 US Open, and an Olympic bronze medal among other notable achievements.

While Swiatek had already released a lengthy statement explaining her decision, Wiktorowski remained quiet until recently. In an interview with the Polish news portal Onet, he brushed off any claims about Abramowicz playing a role in their separation.

"I think that we generally had very good relations in the team," he said. "During three years of intensive cooperation, it is impossible to avoid difficult situations. But even then we always found a way to reach an agreement and get back on track."

"Iga and everything related to preparing a player at the highest level have always been a priority for us," he added.

Swiatek's relationship with Abramowicz has often come under fire from fans and critics due to the sports psychologist's alleged influence on the tennis star's daily life, as depicted in Netflix's 'Break Point.'

"These people know nothing about me or my life. They don't know how I function and what I struggle with. Our conversations never went beyond 'hello'," Swiatek said.

"Honestly, sometimes I don't know what purpose such opinions serve, except that they give sensational media headlines and publicity to whoever expresses them," she added.

The five-time Grand Slam champion noted that although she enjoyed spending free time with Abramowicz, they maintained strict professional boundaries.

"We set session times and work through specific things. It doesn't change the fact that we can eat dinner together or watch something. Sometimes elements of work appear between sessions," she said.

Swiatek has been out of tennis action for a while after withdrawing from both the China Open and Wuhan Open. However, fans can expect to see her return at the WTA Finals in November, set to take place in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
