American tennis star Coco Gauff shared her mixed feelings about living close to the beach. The 20-year-old has returned to Florida and has been relaxing at Delray Beach after competing at the 2024 Wuhan Open.
After winning the China Open to take home her second WTA 1000 title, Gauff started her campaign at the Wuhan Open with wins against Viktoriya Tomova in the Round of 32, Marta Kostyuk in the Round of 16, and Magda Linette in the quarterfinals.
However, her journey came to an end in the semifinals when she faced the top-seed Aryna Sabalenka. Despite a valiant effort, Gauff fell to Belarusian star Aryna Sabalenka with a score of 1-6, 6-4, 6-4. During her post-match press conference, she stated that she would be heading home for a brief period before competing in the 2024 WTA Finals in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
“I think I'm going to go home just because it's been long. I think I've been here, like, four weeks. Two weeks is kind of when we have to leave for Riyadh,” she said.
After returning to her home in Delray Beach, Florida, she took to Instagram to share a glimpse of her time by the seaside and expressed her mixed feelings about beachside living.
“I love living close to the beach however I do not like beach workouts lolll”, she added.
At the WTA Finals slated from November 2 to 9, Coco Gauff will feature alongside a notable lineup comprising of Iga Swiatek, Aryna Sabalenka, Jasmine Paolini, Elena Rybakina, compatriot Jessica Pegula, Zheng Qinwen, and Barbora Krejčíková. Swiatek is the defending champion, having won in 2023 after defeating Pegula in the final 6-1, 6-0.

Coco Gauff enjoyed her 20th birthday on March 13, 2024, by relaxing on the beachside. On her birthday, she shared a photo of herself at the beach. She also mentioned her zodiac sign, Pisces, and described the beach as her "natural habitat," indicating how it feels like home to her. Through an Instagram post, she said:
