Coco Gauff recently expressed her pride as her mother, Candi, showed off a custom-made tee featuring Gauff's face, which she wore at the 2024 China Open final. Gauff also joked about using her mom as a free billboard. As always, her mother was present at the tournament, cheering her on.

The American clinched the eighth WTA title of her career on Sunday (October 8), defeating Karolína Muchová in the final, 6-1, 6-3. In last season’s edition, where she made her debut, Gauff reached the semifinal but was knocked out by eventual champion Iga Świątek. She is now preparing to compete at the Wuhan Open.

As the World No. 4 continues to bask in her China Open victory, she posted a video on her Instagram story on Monday featuring her mother pulling her jacket to reveal the tee with a graphic design of Gauff's face.

In the caption of the video, she shared how her mom, Candi, enjoys wearing items with her child's face or name on them. She wrote:

“it's my mom immediately taking off her jacket to show her coco shirt one thing about my mom she's gonna wear something with her kids' face/name on it. also the shirt is on newbalance.com if you want it might as well use my mom as a free billboard lol love her."

Following her victory at the China Open, Coco Gauff hilariously told the press that her mother, Candi, has been letting her win whenever they play Uno. Gauff also thanked her dad, Corey, as well as her team: Maria Vargo, Filipe Ramírez Luna, and Matt Daly.

"Thank you Matt. She's here. She's been playing Uno, letting me win at Uno and my dad too," Gauff added.

She won the title by defeating Clara Burel, Katie Boulter, and Naomi Osaka in the opening rounds. In the quarterfinals, she beat Ukraine’s Yulia Starodubtseva and then defeated 15th seed Paula Badosa in the semifinals before beating Karolína Muchová in the final. It was Gauff's first title since winning the ASB Classic back in January.
