Chris Evert recently hailed Novak Djokovic as the "GOAT" ( Greatest of All Time) after he won gold at the 2024 Paris Olympics. The Serb defeated Carlos Alcaraz 7-6(3), 7-6(2) in a thrilling encounter at the Court Philippe Chatrier to clinch his first Olympic gold medal.

With this win, Djokovic completed a career Golden Slam by winning all four Majors and the Olympic gold medal. He follows Serena Williams, Rafael Nadal, Andre Agassi, and Steffi Graf in completing this feat. He also became the oldest tennis player (male or female) to win an Olympic gold.

Evert expressed her joy on X (formerly Twitter) following Djokovic's win. The 69-year-old opined that the Serb has cemented his "GOAT" status:

"Novak..... His love for the game and his country is unprecedented. The strength of his mind is incomparable. His GOAT status is cemented. So happy for him...," Evert wrote.

Following the win, Djokovic talked about his feelings on hearing the Serbian anthem during the medal ceremony.

"Nothing will ever surpass seeing myself on the podium listening to the Serbian anthem with the flag raise," he said ( via Punto de Break).

Following a stellar campaign in Paris, Djokovic will turn his focus towards the 2024 US Open, where he will compete as the defending champion.
