Six-time Grand Slam winner Boris Becker recently reacted to the trend of Jannik Sinner and Aryna Sabalenka continuously winning titles in the same week. This comes just a day after Sinner won the 2024 Shanghai Masters and Sabalenka won the Wuhan Open.

These final wins marked the fourth time in this 2024 season that Sinner and Sabalenka had won titles in the same week. This trend started with the 2024 Australian Open in January, when Sinner beat Daniil Medvedev in the finals to win his first Grand Slam and Sabalenka beat Qinwenz Zheng to defend her title successfully.

The duo repeated the same feat at the Cincinnati Masters and the 2024 US Open, where they both clinched titles again in the same week. Becker took to his X (formerly Twitter) handle to react to this intriguing trend. He wrote:

"The story continues…."

Sinner and Sabalenka have had immense success this season. The Italian has bagged seven titles so far this year, including two Grand Slams, while the 26-year-old Belarusian has won four titles, including her two Grand Slam victories at the Australian Open and US Open.

Jannik Sinner defeated Novak Djokovic for the second time this year on Sunday (October 13) during the 2024 Rolex Shanghai Masters final.

The 23-year-old beat the Serb in straight sets 7-6 (7), 6-3 to win the title. This was Sinner's second win over Djokovic this season after their Australian Open semifinal contest, where Sinner defeated the 24-time Grand Slam winner in four sets.

Speaking after his victory in Shanghai, Jannik Sinner shared some kind words for Djokovic and also made a special mention of the Serb's serves in the first set of the match. During the conversation, the World No. 1 also revealed that his victory in the tiebreak of the first set gave him a huge boost of confidence going into the second set.

He said (via ATP Tour):

"It was a very tough match, obviously, playing against Novak is one of the toughest challenges we have. I’m very happy with how I handled the situation. He was serving great the first set, I couldn’t find a way to break him. I played a really good tie-break which gave me confidence to start off well in the second set."

With this victory, Sinner has now equalized the head-to-head record against Djokovic, which now stands at 4-4.
