John Isner shared some amusing details surrounding a photo from his nude photoshoot for the 2013 ESPN Body Issue. Isner revealed that Andy Roddick and Mardy Fish hilariously displayed his picture from the photoshoot everywhere in order to embarrass him.

The ESPN Body Issue, which was first published in 2009, featured athletes from various sports. The first tennis players to be featured in the magazine were Serena Williams and James Blake. The publication continued for a decade, with its final edition releasing in 2019.

Isner was featured in the fifth edition of the Body Issue in 2013, alongside fellow tennis player Agnieszka Radwanska. Isner posed fully nude for the magazine and his picture captured him in mid-swing playing a shot.

During a recent episode of the Nothing Major podcast, John Isner spoke about his 2013 ESPN Body Issue photo. He mentioned that the picture was taken at Indian Wells and expressed that he was "proud" of the image

The former World No. 8 also shared a funny anecdote related to the photo. Isner recalled how Andy Roddick and Mardy Fish tried to embarrass him by displaying his picture everywhere, but instead of feeling embarrassed, he found it amusing.

“We did this at Indian Wells, it was super cold and windy, but no I had nothing on. I’m very proud of this photo. Andy Roddick and Mardy Fish, they would plaster it up in the locker room and try to embarrass me after it first came out and no I love it,” John Isner said.

Upon hearing this story, actor Boris Kodjoe suggested that Isner should have signed the pictures where Roddick and Fish had placed them. Isner confirmed that he did just that, signing the pictures as suggested.

“You should have walked around the locker with a sharpie and signed everyone of them,” Kodjoe quipped.
“Totally dude! That’s pretty much what I did,” Isner added.

Other tennis players who have been featured in ESPN's Body Issue include Venus Williams, Stan Wawrinka, and Caroline Wozniacki, among others.
