Iga Swiatek, Aryna Sabalenka, and Elena Rybakina's qualification into the 2023 Indian Wells semifinals carries a sense of predictability with it. But with that predictability also comes long-awaited stability on the WTA tour as the dynamic trio's Indian Wells runs are only in continuation of their rich vein of form over an extended period of time.

Swiatek, Sabalenka, and Rybakina currently hold all four Grand Slam titles between them, with Swiatek and Sabalenka also occupying the Top-2 spots in the WTA rankings. The highly-dominant world No. 1 Iga Swiatek, who is the defending French Open and US Open champion, continues her rein at the top and will soon complete a full year as the undisputed world No. 1 after first earning it in April last year.

Defending Indian Wells champion Swiatek's opponent in the semifinals will be reigning Wimbledon champion Rybakina, who also reached the Australian Open final earlier this year, beating Swiatek in the process. Rybakina has been one of the very few players to beat Swiatek since the latter's dominant run on tour began at the very tournament at Indian Wells last year.

The Kazakh star looked on course for a second Major at the Australian Open, until world No. 2 Sabalenka capped off her most impressive campaign at a Grand Slam tournament with a three-set win over Rybakina in the final. Along with Swiatek, Sabalenka has been the most in-form player since late 2022, having reached the final of the WTA Finals, and having won two titles already in 2023, with Indian Wells a highly probable third.

Sabalenka's opponent in Friday's semifinals is another consistent player in world No. 7 Maria Sakkari, who was a finalist at Indian Wells last year and a semifinalist at the WTA Finals.

Very rarely in quite a few years now on the WTA tour have a string of players displayed such consistency over a period of time at the biggest events, bringing the stabilization that has deserted the women's game. A kind of stability in results that the men's game has seen with the likes of Rafael Nadal, Novak Djokovic, and Roger Federer in the 2000s.

Aryna Sabalenka, Elena Rybakina, and Iga Swiatek also currently occupy the Top-3 spots in the 2023 Race to the WTA Finals, which is further testament to their consistency. Sabalenka, who has already won 17 matches this year (before the Indian Wells semifinals), comfortably leads the race with 2,660 points. The Indian Wells second seed has now reached at least the quarterfinals in all tournaments she has played so far this year.

Rybakina and Swiatek sit behind Sabalenka in second and third place, respectively, with 1561 points for Rybakina to Swiatek's 1420 points. Rybakina backed up her Australian Open campaign with a quarterfinals run in Abu Dhabi before her stellar Indian Wells run.

Meanwhile, Iga Swiatek quickly left behind the disappointment of the Australian Open by winning the Qatar Open, reaching the Dubai Tennis Championships final, and looking in ominous touch again at Indian Wells.

While the likes of Coco Gauff, Jessica Pegula, Caroline Garcia, and Sakkari, among others, are constantly working towards closing the gap, Swiatek, Sabalenka, and Elena Rybakina have undoubtedly established themselves as the players to beat this season.
