Davis Cup 2016: India take unassailable 3-0 lead against Korea to qualify for World Group Playoff

Leander Paes and Rohan Bopanna sealed the tie for India

India sealed a spot into the World Group Playoff on Saturday after taking an unassailable 3-0 lead in their Davis Cup Group 1 tie against South Korea in Chandigarh.

After Ramkumar Ramanathan and Saketh Myneni won their respective Singles ties on Friday to make it 2-0 , it was the turn of Leander Paes and Rohan Bopanna to get on to the act and they made it 3-0 for the hosts with a straight sets 6-3 6-4 6-4 win over Hong Chung and Seon Chong Hung.

This win will certainly come as a positive boost for Paes and Bopanna, who will also be pairing up for Rio Olympics next month. India’s World Group Playoff match will be in Sepetmber.
