India's javelin throw star Neeraj Chopra is clear in his ambitions and has stated that the 2028 LA Olympics is at present not the priority. Instead for Neeraj, next year's World Championship is the major focus at this time.
Chopra, who won the silver medal at the Paris Olympics 2024, feels that though the Olympics is a big stage, the next edition is quite far away. At present, he only wants to target what is in the near future. The World Athletics Championships is scheduled to be held in Tokyo in September 2025.
"Our biggest target for next year is the World Championship, and we will begin preparations for that now. The Olympics are always on our minds, but we have four years for that. We will focus on any necessary improvements in technique," said Neeraj (Via PTI)
The 26-year-old went on to speak about recovering from his injury that has been bothering him for some time. Neeraj Chopra also talked highly about India's performance at both the Olympic and Paralympic Games.
"The injury is now fine. I will work hard and shall enter the next season with great fitness," he said, adding,"This time, we had great performance at the Paralympics and won several medals. We expect strong performances in both the Olympics and the Paralympics in the future too."

Neeraj Chopra is one athlete who does not get too content with his accomplishments easily. He recently showed why everyone rates him so highly by continuing on his exceptional run from the Games in Paris.
Chopra was once again at his absolute best during the IAAF Diamond League final in Brussels earlier this month. The Indian thrower came agonizingly close to becoming a champion. With a throw of 87.86m, Neeraj finished in the second place and missed out on the gold by just one centimeter.
It was his second consecutive Diamond League silver medal having accomplished the same at the 2023 edition in Eugene, USA.
