[Watch] Neeraj Chopra gets roaring welcome at the Sports University of Haryana on his return home after success at Paris Olympics

Neeraj Chopra was received with a grand welcome at the Sports University of Haryana in Sonipat post his return from a successful season abroad. Neeraj has returned to India having clinched a silver medal each at the Paris Olympics 2024 and the Diamond League final in Brussels.

In a video posted by ANI, the star javelin thrower was seen being escorted by a parade of marching horses. Neeraj was applauded and cheered by his supporters and the officials present at the university. Several young students formed two rows and were all smiles as the athlete greeted them with much love.

The university that Neeraj Chopra visited is located in the town on Rai in Sonipat. Chopra shares a special bond with Haryana as he himself hails from Panipat which is another very popular city of the state.

Notably, this is Neeraj's first visit back home since his participation at the Paris Olympics 2024. Having won the silver at the quadrennial event first, the 26-year-old had then gone straightaway to Brussels to compete at the IAAF Diamond League final.


Neeraj Chopra assures of having recovered from past injuries after being spotted with plaster on fractured hand

Neeraj Chopra was seen with a plaster on his fractured left hand which would have left his supporters a little worried. Chopra has been plagued with fitness issues right through the season. However, he still managed to excel for which he has received much praise from all quarters.

Apart from an adductor muscle issue that he competed with in Paris, Neeraj also had to get through the Diamond League final with a fractured hand. He had picked up the injury during practice prior to the competition.

However, the much loved athlete has reassured his well-wishers that all is now well with regards to his fitness. While talking to the media at the event, Neeraj expressed that he is recovering well from his injury and is looking forward to gaining full fitness ahead of the upcoming season.
