[Watch] Indian hockey team receives special in-flight gesture from Air India on their journey back from Paris Olympics 2024

The entire country is applauding the Indian hockey team for their bronze medal win at the Paris 2024 Olympics. Among the many to have paid tribute to the Indian team was Air India. The flight carrier on which the team traveled back to India today (August 10) celebrated the achievement with a special in-flight gesture.

In a video posted by Hockey India on the social media platform X (Twitter), the Indian hockey team was given congratulatory applause. The flight captain took to the announcement system and praised the team.

The announcement was then followed by cheering from all the co-passengers and in-flight staff. The Indian team was seen embracing the love and praise as they appeared all smiles.

The Indian team is being commended on their performance at the quadrennial event. The Harmanpreet Singh-led side was lauded for their fighting spirit and winning one of the country's six medals at the Paris Olympics 2024 so far.


Indian hockey team wins its 13th Olympic medal at the Summer Games in Paris

The Indian hockey team has lived up to expectations by clinching India's 13th Olympic medal in the sport at the Paris Olympics 2024. For decades, India has been a formidable force to reckon with in hockey at the Olympics. The team's 2-1 bronze medal victory against Spain added another chapter to Indian hockey's rich folklore.

The 'Men in Blue' were at their dominant best, having lost only one match in the pool stages. Though they lost 2-3 to Germany in the semifinals, India ensured a podium finish by making a solid comeback in the bronze medal match.

The Indian team defeated Spain 2-1 to clinch the third-place finish. The medal in Paris follows India's bronze medal finish at the 2020 Summer Games in Tokyo.
