The Indian hockey team visited the Major Dhyan Chand National Stadium in Delhi today (August 10) to pay their respect to the Indian hockey legend. The bronze medal winners at the Paris 2024 Olympics visited the stadium in the capital to pay tribute to the former Olympic gold medal-winning captain of the Indian team.

The hockey contingent arrived at the Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi during the morning hours. Post a grand welcome at the airport, the team then travelled to the stadium. A video from their visit was shared by Hockey India on the social media platform X (Twitter).

In the video, the entire Indian contingent can be seen posing alongside a statue of the late Major Dhyan Chand. The players can be seen wearing their Olympic medals around their necks.

Chand is considered one of the greatest legends of world hockey and is a celebrated name in India's sporting folklore. He is most known for winning three Olympic gold medals for the Indian hockey team (1928, 1932 and 1936). At the 1936 Games in Berlin, Dhyan Chand was the captain of the team.
