In endearing visuals, Harmanpreet Singh was seen lifting PR Sreejesh on his shoulders as the Indian men's hockey team celebrated. This awe-inspiring scene came in the background of the Indian team winning the bronze medal at the Paris 2024 Olympics.

Both Harmanpreet and Sreejesh were seen all smiles in the video as the Indian team took a victory lap post their win. The entire Indian team can be seen walking jubilantly behind the two. India defeated Spain 2-1 in the bronze medal match to clinch a second consecutive Olympic podium finish.

PR Sreejesh who is now retired from the sport, is being celebrated around the country. Known lovingly as the 'Wall of India', the goalkeeper has been a force to reckon with while safeguarding the Indian goalpost for years.

Not just the captain Harmanpreet, but the entire Indian contingent gave the star player a grand farewell. There were plenty of cheers and love that was being showered on Sreejesh from the crowds as well.

The Indian team was also seen clicking pictures while paying their tributes to PR Sreejesh, who was seen sitting on top of the goalpost. Right through the Paris Olympics 2024, PR Sreejesh has been one name that has gained immense popularity in several households across the country.


Indian Men's Hockey Team defeats Spain to clinch a second consecutive Olympic medal

The bronze medal win at the Paris Olympics 2024 was India's 13th Olympic medal in the sport. The Indian hockey team also created history by clinching a medal in back-to-back Olympic Games for the first time in 52 years. They had won the bronze at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.

The match against Spain started with not much to separate between the two teams. India and Spain were drawn at 0-0 by the end of the first quarter. In the second quarter, Spain took the lead with Indian defender Amit Rohidas conceding a foul.

However, India came roaring back in the game, with skipper Harmanpreet Singh successfully converting a penalty corner. The goal in the third quarter gave India a 2-1 lead, which they held on to until the end of the match.
