The Paris Olympics 2024 is gearing up for a grand opening ceremony on July 26. Among the many exciting events, tennis will be a significant highlight, with matches scheduled to begin on July 27 and conclude on August 4 at the prestigious Stade Roland Garros, the same venue where the French Open is held annually.

The draw ceremony for the same will take place on Thursday, July 25, in the Club des Loges at Roland Garros. This event will determine the matchups for the tournament, and notable Indian pairs Rohan Bopanna and Sriram Balaji will be participating as an unseeded team.

This unseeded status puts them in a precarious position for their journey ahead in the Paris Olympics 2024.

Veteran Rohan Bopanna, a seasoned Olympian with two previous appearances, managed to secure a direct entry into the Paris 2024 draw owing to his top-10 world ranking by the cutoff date.

After securing the Olympic quota, Bopanna had the privilege of choosing his partner for the Games and decided to team up with N Sriram Balaji.

In 2024, Bopanna achieved a career milestone by winning the Australian Open men's doubles title alongside his partner Matthew Ebden from Australia. This victory marked his first Grand Slam men’s doubles win and catapulted him to the position of the oldest world No. 1 in doubles tennis rankings at the age of 43.

Now, with the Paris Olympics on the horizon, 44-year-old Bopanna is aiming to add an Olympic medal to his impressive list of achievements.
