The Paris Olympics 2024 starts in 24 days and the Indian tennis contingent is gearing up for the mega-event. The French capital will witness three of India's best tennis players take the court with the hope of bringing home some medals this month.
India have won only one medal in tennis at the Olympic Games till date and that came way back in 1996 in Atlanta when Leander Paes bagged a bronze in the men's singles category.
In the previous edition in Tokyo, three tennis players took part from India. However, none of them succeeded in qualifying for the Round of 16. Sumit Nagal suffered a defeat to Daniil Medvedev in the Round of 32 men's singles clash.
On the other hand, the duo of Sania Mirza and Ankita Raina succumbed to the twin Kichenok sisters in the women's doubles Round of 32.
