Bengaluru Bulls is all set to give a tough fight to Bengal Warriors in their first match of Pro Kabaddi League’s season 4 on Sunday at SVP Stadium, Mumbai. The Bulls, who played fairly well in the first two seasons of the league, finished at seventh position in the third season of the league, under their coach Randhir Singh, an Arjuna awardee.
The Bulls seemed to be at a loss after losing their star player Mohit Chhillar in the third season and hence got him back at price of Rs.53 lakhs. The Bengaluru team, which has the most start players, has retained their coach Randhir Singh, a gold medallist at 1990 Asian Games, for the fourth season as well.
In a candid talk with Sportskeeda, the coach briefed us about their preparations and spoke on how important it is to promote young talents.
Singh, who has been associated with the game for long, and has represented India team, believes that promoting new talents is a very important and hence believes, that teams should have young players.
On being asked if Manjeet Chillar’s absence from Bengaluru Bulls was a loss in the third season, he is quick to response that his young boys who played in the third season were very good, defended the experienced players quite confidently, and gave a tough fight. He also adds that he never regrets losing any players in the bid because the young boys need to be brought up.
“These young lads who had never worn shoes and never faced such a platform did quite well and yes promoting them is very important .We need to give chance to the young boys and promote them, would there be a Virat Kohli in Cricket if a new talent was not promoted, Kabaddi is also the same.,” he quickly adds.
The coach says that his team is well trained and focused to defend any team, but he also agrees that they have special strategy for Bengal Warriors who have a very good defence line. He also considers Puneri Paltans, U-Mumba and Patna Pirates as quite strong teams.

The 59-years-old feels that you need to keep working, he says that Bulls had played well in the first two seasons, and has firm belief that the Bulls will be back with a bang this time.
The former Indian player said that Bengaluru Bulls has not placed any extra pressure on any player, even if Manjeet Chillar was been brought up for a whopping amount of Rs.53 lakhs, other teams too have their players at 30-35lakhs, so all teams are worth Rs.2 crore.
On the rapport that his team shares, he is confident to say that, Bengaluru Bulls is known for its discipline and that his players are cordial among them and respect him a lot.
“My players touch my feet every morning and every night before bed. I also keep a personal check on them, whether they had their meals on time, are they keeping well, and make sure that they are not stressed so that they can focus on the game, apart from practice sessions also, I keep a track of their well-being,” shares the coach.
Singh makes his players watch videos of other teams and makes his players focus on other team’s weak-pints and play at it.
His last minute advice to his boys is to get in use the 80% of the 100% training and practice sessions they had and play with cool minds, and he believes that is enough to make his boys champion.
