WWE: Top 5 breakout stars in NXT

When the idea of NXT sprang up in the minds of the higher authorities in the WWE management, it came off as a good move. Instead of scouting talents from various promotions in the world The independent scene which has more professional wrestlers than an arena filled with fans for the Super Bowl, WWE had its own breeding ground for talent. They could hand pick the very few and fortunate, those who possessed the qualities that the WWE look for The physique, charisma and the ability to carry themselves in front of millions, and also the occasional ability to put on a good performance inside the ring. WWE also started their own performance centers, places where they could train these young talents, and showcase them on NXT before bringing them on to the main roster. All the elements fell in place, and it became a huge success!Earlier, WWE used to partner with other organizations like Ohio Valley Wrestling (OVW) as its developmental territory. Eliminating the necessity for that would result in WWE not depending on the outside resources, and that is what NXT was able to fulfill. Triple H also has the knack of bringing the independent stars who have been receiving rave reviews, with latest rumors being KENTA from Pro Wrestling NOAH and Prince Devitt from New Japan Pro Wrestling making their way down to NXT! That was something Vince McMahon wasnt interested in doing, since he wanted to create his own stars Products of the WWE machine, unlike the CM Punks and Daniel Bryans, who earned their fame first on the independent circuit.Today, NXTs roster is stacked with some of the greatest talents on the face of the planet. There are some superstars who have traveled all around the world, putting on classic bouts in various countries. There are also the WWE products Those who were brought in by WWE without much prior experience, but have received rave reviews from the fans and management alike. In this article, I look at five such young, bright prospects that can be the next big thing in the WWE, once they make their debut on the main roster.

#1 Tyler Breeze

With a character that is a mash – up of Rick Rude and a young Shawn Michaels during his “Boy toy” days, Tyler Breeze is a breath of fresh air on the NXT roster.

My first opinion about Tyler’s new gimmick was that it was too generic, and has been rehashed numerous times in the wrestling industry. Surprisingly, he has held his own and has made a name for himself on NXT, and if rumors are to be believed, the higher ups are impressed with Tyler, and he might make his debut on the main roster sooner than expected. As a fan, I’m excited about Tyler’s presence on the main roster, and the exciting feuds it can lead to!

#2 Bo Dallas

Here’s something the WWE has done to perfection. Take a generic character, shove him down the throats of the WWE Universe, but not in a “Rocky Maivia” esque way, and make him interesting! WWE has a knack of telling the fans whom to cheer for, but they’ve understood the psyche of the wrestling fans and have come up with a “Bo – lieve” character for Dallas.

Dallas, who is the younger brother of WWE superstar Bray Wyatt, will be debuting on the main roster soon. He is also a former NXT champion, and his story is quite similar to Bray’s, who initially had a different gimmick which didn’t work out. It’ll be interesting to see what WWE does with Bo on the main roster, but it’ll be a wise decision on their part if they introduced him as a heel character – Something similar to Randy Orton’s early gimmick, where he boasted about himself in promos and vignettes.

#3 Adrian Neville

This is where this list gets even more interesting! If you’re a fan of independent wrestling, then Adrian Neville aka PAC has to be one of your favorites! When reports came in that WWE had signed him to a developmental contract, I was ecstatic about seeing him in the WWE! And he is aptly dubbed as “The man that gravity forgot”!

Those who haven’t followed NXT, he is one of the best reasons to start watching the show. Adrian defeated Bo Dallas in an amazing ladder match to win the NXT championship, and his high – risk offensive maneuvers are a treat to watch! With Adrian and Tyson Kidd squaring against each other, they can easily have one of the best matches of the year! Although WWE management haven’t decided to bring Adrian to the main roster, one feels it is just a matter of time before we get to see his debut on RAW.

#4 Kalisto

The last two superstars have been two of the best wrestlers on the independent circuit for many years! Kalisto, known before as Samuray del Sol had received exceptional reviews during his time with the Mexican promotion AAA, along with CZW and DGUSA.

Kalisto made his debut on NXT recently, partnering up with El Local (the former Ricardo, mouth piece of Del Rio), and was victorious in his debut match. Kalisto is an exciting talent, and has all the tools to replace Rey Mysterio as the next face of Mexican wrestling in the WWE. I’m looking forward especially to his matches with Sami Zayn, who happens to be my number one pick!

#5 Sami Zayn

If there is one superstar who will definitely impress the WWE Universe with his unpredictable move – set and amazing athleticism, that would be the former El Generico, Sami Zayn! Words aren’t enough to describe this talented superstar, and as the NXT fans have already witnessed, his work ethic and ring awareness is nothing short of incredible.

With reports that the WWE management, and even talents such as John Cena are impressed with the former masked superstar, it is only a matter of time before he gets called up to the main roster. One can only imagine the amazing bouts he can have with the likes of Cesaro and Daniel Bryan, and to that, I can only say “Ole!”
