Raw was mostly about the King Of The Ring Tournament with the main event scene lurking in once in a while. The Triple Threat Match at Payback was something rumors had addressed quite often in the past week. Rollins was WWE's Justin Bieber tonight. But this night was lesser about the hyped stars and mostly about the promising, talented superstars who are not that hyped. The KOTR tournament and the long matches added a nice touch to the show. And Damien Sandow had a pretty cool moment of addressing his 'Intellectual Savior' self. Here are the five promising developments from this week’s Raw:

#1 Lana\'s newfound popularity

Rusev’s heel momentum may have suffered a bump after his two consecutive losses to John Cena. But there is something to be hugely hopeful about. Rusev’s treatment of Lana has led people, mainly Americans, to realize how good she is on the mic. When she made her way to the ramp to be beside Rusev, with her hands waving away at the audience, the arena cheered for her and booed after Rusev sent her off.

The audience led a ‘We Want Lana’ chants. It’ll be interesting to see what The Ravishing Russian does from now on. Will she still badmouth the citizens of America who just cheered for her?

#2 King of The Ring Tournament

For the first time in a long time, Bad News Barrett gained a victory. Ziggler was protected in defeat, since the loss came after Sheamus decided to distract Ziggler with a picture from last night’s Extreme Rules. Ziggler looked strong despite his loss. Then Stardust came out to face R- Truth.

The audience kept on chanting ‘Cody’ at Stardust and then Truth actually won and moved forward in the tournament. Ambrose and Stardust, probably, were the most entertaining with a promo. Ambrose said if he was to be the king, he’ll settle all legal disputes with street fights. Neville and Harper wrestled a match where both of their different styles collaborated well.

Also, one could wonder how a crowd would fit Sheamus’ head with his mohawk and everything.

In all those bouts, The idiosyncracies of all characters came out well.

#3 Something cooking?

The particularly good match in the KOTR tournament was Ambrose Vs Sheamus. It was fresh, given that these two haven’t met as their present characters- Sheamus the heel and Ambrose the face. It was tough to predict who’ll actually win. The one possibility was Ziggler interfering just like Sheamus did earlier in the night.

This happened but Ziggler went on to attack Sheamus, causing a disqualification and hence the Irishman won. Ambrose was lying there clueless that this had transpired. It was unfair and it seems Ziggler and Ambrose may come face to face.

#4 Damien SANDOW

Damien Sandow finally spoke on the microphone. Sandow has always been entertaining. It’s just the WWE that has never had much to give him creatively. Him coming out and talking about his chaacter journey. He went three years back and talked about the time he came out wearing a bblue robe as The Intellectual Savior of The Masses. It was a bit wierd but in a good way to have Sandow talk about his journey from that to now.

Curtis Axel came out and Sandow mocked him. It was a heartwarming little promo and it the segment turned funny soon after. Sandow is gold as an imitator.

The best part was that he revisted his gimmick from three years ago. He reintroduced his ‘You’re Welcome’ Catchphrase.

This was certainly entertaining. And Sandow is actually over!!

#5 Neville making you care

Neville is indeed a special talent. The Red Arrow may never cease to remain beautiful. He beat a big guy on Raw to move ahead in the King if The Ring Tournament. He beat Luke Harper and it was an impressive performance- the biggest USP Neville has.

The King Of The Ring Tournament is no longer what it used to be. Walking around with a crown is no longer the fashion. It looks ridiculous and most of the people competing in this tournament will look ridiculous carrying a crown around. But Neville’s performance is certainly making you care about this tournament. You may actually want to see him win.
