5 possible feuds for Daniel Bryan after Wrestlemania 31

Wrestlemania 31 has now come and gone while surpassing all expectations, delivering an entertaining, enthralling show from start to finish. One of the stars of that night was the beloved Daniel Bryan who captured his first ever Intercontinental Championship in a phenomenal ladder match that effectively helped raise the prestige and importance of the IC title. Where Bryan goes on from here is anyone guess and the sky’s the limit. So let’s take a look now at five potential post-mania feuds for the new IC champ Daniel Bryan.

#1 Bad News Barrett

One obvious immediate feud for Bryan which writes itself is a bout with former Intercontinental champion Bad News Barrett.

Bryan and Barrett are both solid in ring workers and have proven that they can deliver impressive matches.

Barrett is guaranteed an automatic rematch clause for the title so this match will indeed happen at some point. However there are still several other noteworthy stars vying for a championship shot so it’s possible that when Barrett finally does get his rematch (or rematches) there may be a plethora of other superstars involved (triple threats or fatal four ways).

#2 Dean Ambrose

Dean Ambrose failed to walk out on top at Wrestlemania 31 in the IC ladder match and now finds himself without much direction. Regardless though, Ambrose is still an incredible performer and one of the most popular guys in the entire company so is deserving of an IC feud with Bryan.

Bryan vs Ambrose is an extremely interesting matchup and if you throw some other guys in like Dolph Ziggler then you have the recipe for an instant classic.

It’s possible though that Ambrose is instead set for a collision with John Cena for the US title after he answered his open challenge of Raw but that could have also been a one off moment.

#3 John Cena

This potential feud for Bryan would probably be a lot further down the road then the other suggested names. But a rematch between these two at Summerslam would be legendary.

If WWE is planning to unify the two minor titles (US/IC) than using these two individuals would serves the perfect opportunity to do so while also drastically increasing the new unified titles prestige.

If WWE doesn’t want to unify the titles then this match could still happen (possibly still at Summerslam) as some sort of ‘champion v champion’ exhibition match.

#4 Dolph Ziggler

Dolph Ziggler has been tangled up in the IC title picture for months now and that trend looks to continue especially when they now have the option to book a series of classic Ziggler v Bryan matches.

These guys are arguably the two most popular guys in the company right now and also two of the most talented performers as well. The rumoured singles feud for mania between the two fell though in favour of the multi-man ladder match.

During the Wrestlemania build, Bryan and Ziggler clashed on a few occasions but hopefully that was only just the beginning.

#5 Sheamus

On the Monday Night Raw after Wrestlemania, Sheamus returned as a heel with a new look, attacking both Bryan and Ziggler.

During the Smackdown taping, Sheamus battled Bryan in an official bout, defeating him via count out thus inserting himself into the IC title picture and beginning a feud with new champ Daniel Bryan.

The two have history and can deliver solid bouts so their feud should be quite interesting.

The immediate future for Bryan (Extreme Rules PPV) looks to have him possibly defending his newly won championship in a fatal four way against Sheamus, Barrett and Ziggler.

Ideally, Daniel Bryan will have a historic championship reign that will feature a series of fantastic matches and effectively raise the titles prestige.
