Mega Glalie's strengths and weaknesses in Pokemon GO

Glalie is an Ice-type Pocket Monster. In Pokemon GO, it resists only Ice-type attacks. Defensively, it takes extra damage from Fire, Fighting, Rock, and Steel-type attacks.

The critter gets the benefit of same-type-attack-bonus (STAB) only when using Ice-type attacks. These can hit Flying, Grass, and Grass-type Pocket Monsters for super-effective damage.

Mega Glalie stats in Pokemon GO

Mega Glalie features the following base stats in Pokemon GO:

  • Attack: 252
  • Defense: 168
  • Stamina: 190

The Mega Evolved form of Glalie is a heavily Attack-weighted critter. With only 168 and 190 points dedicated to Defense and Stamina, it acts as a glass cannon in battles.

The creature reaches a maximum of 3,651 CP when powered up to level 50 with perfect (15/15/15) IVs. If this critter is Best Buddies with you in the game, it reaches 3,695 CP.

You can capture Shiny Glalie directly from Mega Raids. The chance of this happening is around 1-in-128. You may also catch a Shiny Snorunt (usually the odds for this are around 1-in-512) and evolve it into Glalie using 100 Candy.

Mega Evolving a Shiny Glalie is the only way to get a Shiny Mega Glalie in Niantic's AR-based game. Visually, the only difference between the entity's regular and shiny is the color of the eyes. The regular version has light blue ones, which become reddish in the shiny form.

Mega Glalie best moveset in Pokemon GO, and is it any good?

The best moveset for Mega Glalie is as follows:

  • Fast Attack: Frost Breath
  • Charged Attack: Avalanche

Mega Glalie is the seventh-best Ice-type PvE attacker in the game when it comes to DPS. However, being quite frail, it has a lower total damage output when it comes to tougher opponents. Additionally, it boosts the damage dealt by other Ice-type attackers during raids.

Considering all things, Mega Abomasnow is a better choice in most cases as it has a higher damage output as well as the benefit of boosting both Ice and Grass-type attacks.
