Pokemon GO Adventure Week Taken Over marks the return of Team GO Rocket in their eternal quest for world domination. This time, Giovannie wields Shadow Cresselia as his trump card, with trainers who are successful in defeating the boss having a chance to catch the powerful beast. Several new Shadow Pokemon also join the mix as GO Rocket leaders and grunts lineups are refreshed.

Pokemon GO Adventure Week Taken Over: Schedule and event bonuses

The Adventurer Week Taken Over begins on Thursday, August 8, 2024, at 12 am local time and continues until Monday, August 12, 2024, at 11.59 pm local time. The event bonuses associated are as follows:

  • Team GO Rocket will appear more frequently at PokéStops and in balloons.
  • You can use a Charged TM to help a Shadow Pokémon forget the Charged Attack Frustration.

Pokemon GO Adventure Week Taken Over: Shadow Cresselia and Shadow Lugia

Shadow Cresselia is available to trainers who are successfully able to defeat the Team GO Rocket Boss. The Adventure Week Taken Over Special Research provides a Super Rocket Radar which will help players encounter Giovanni in-game.

Shadow Lugia is set to be available in 5-star Shadow Raids from Saturday, August 10, 2024, to Sunday, August 11, 2024. Trainers can also come across a Shiny Shadow Lugia.

  • Shadow Vibrava

Pokemon GO Adventure Week Taken Over: Field Research task rewards and PokeStop Showcase

Adventure Week Field Research task rewards involve Mysterious Components, Charged TMs, and Fast TMs. Players will also get to enjoy event-themed PokeStop Showcases. Niantic has also made a Team GO Rocket Box bundle available for the cost of US$9.99.
