Pokemon GO Gigantamax debut officially announced

Pokemon GO will soon see the debuts of Gigantamax Pokemon in its mix. It has been a little over a month since trainers saw the arrival of Dynamax variants. The official announcement stated that a group of 10 to 40 trainers is needed to take down Gigantamax Pokemon in Max Battles.

Niantic revealed the information as part of a short trailer on October 15.

Gigantamax Max Battles will be the toughest test for Pokemon GO trainers yet

Gigantamax Venusaur, Gigantamax Charizard, and Gigantamax Blastoise will debut in Pokemon with the GO Bigger event (taking place from October 26 to 27, 2024). Gigantamax Pokemon will spawn at Power Spots in the game world.

Gigantamaxed pocket monster features a unique G-Max Move that might be of a different type than its Fast Attack. The announcement trailer also featured Orbeetle, Toxtricity, Alcremie, and Kingler.

Debuting in Pokemon Sword and Shield (Gen VIII), Gigantamax is a special type of Dynamax. It is available to 32 Pokemon in the mainline series. The creatures and their respective G-Max Moves are as follows:

  • Pikachu - G-Max Volt Crash
  • Meowth - G-Max Gold Rush
  • Machamp - G-Max Chi Strike
