If you do not have people to play with, you might be wondering if you can solo defeat Steelix in Pokemon GO. Fortunately, despite its strong moveset and stats, it is not hard to defeat the Pocket Monster as a solo raider. All you need is a few strong raid attackers to help you out.

Steelix was introduced in the game on February 16, 2017, along with other Pokemon from the region of Johto. This article covers everything you need to know about how to solo defeat the Steel- and Ground-type creature in Pokemon GO.

What is super-effective on Steelix?

Since Steelix is a 3-star Steel- and Ground-type raid boss in Pokemon GO, Fighting-, Ground-, Fire-, and Water-type attacks are super-effective against it. It takes 160% damage from all moves of these elemental typings.

While Steelix's 148 base Attack and 272 base Defense stat — combined with the 3,600 HP health bar of 3-star raid bosses — give it an impressive Raid Boss CP of 16,568, it is still extremely susceptible to Fighting-, Ground-, Fire-, and Water-type attacks.

Even though Steelix has moves like Thunder Fang and Earthquake that are super-effective against Water- and Fire-type attackers, respectively, it does not have the stats needed to pose as much of a threat. The only problem is its insanely high defense stat.
