Can you solo defeat Mega Aggron in Pokemon GO Mega raids?

Players might be wondering if it is possible to solo defeat Mega Aggron in Pokemon GO Mega raids if you have the right counters in your raid party. This powerful Pocket Monster made its debut in Niantic's mobile game in September 2022, and has appeared in the game many times since then.

Although many powerful Pocket Monsters have been released since September 2022, you still have no hope if you are looking to solo defeat Mega Aggron in Pokemon GO. As of July 2024, where it will appear as a raid boss between July 23 and August 3, there are no critters capable of taking down this beast on its own.

Why is it impossible to solo defeat Mega Aggron in Pokemon GO Mega raids?

Mega Aggron is built like a tank. With 331 points in its Defense stats and a whopping 9,000 HP health bar, it would be difficult to solo defeat it with a double weakness. To make matters worse, Mega Aggron loses its secondary Rock-typing, leaving it with only three 160% weaknesses—Fighting, Fire, and Ground.

While each of Mega Aggron's weaknesses has an impressive set of raid attackers, none of them is strong enough to whittle down Mega Aggron's health bar within 300 seconds. Even with a weather boost (Cloudy for Fighting and Clear for Fire and Ground), these attackers fail to break it past the raid boss' defenses in time and solo defeat Mega Aggron in Pokemon GO.

Minimum number of players to defeat Mega Aggron in Pokemon GO Mega raids

Like many other powerful raid bosses in Pokemon GO, it takes at least two players with maxed-out best counters to Mega Aggron to take down the creature. If you are entering this challenge with only a couple of trainers, make sure to carry enough Max Revives, as your attackers are bound to faint a few times. You would do best to bring them back from fainting and heal them fully in one go, to make the most of your time.
