Pokemon Scarlet and Violet's latest black crystal Tera Raid boss features a Grass Tera Type Serperior. It can be battled beginning on September 19, 2024, at 5:00 pm PDT until September 22, 2024, at 4:59 pm PDT. Serperior will then re-emerge as a 7-star Tera Raid boss on September 26, 2024, at 5:00 pm PDT until September 29, 2024, at 4:59 pm PDT.

After examining the raid boss a little more closely, it appears that it's also possible to defeat this Pokemon Scarlet and Violet raid boss in a single attack with a little setup, which should be perfect for farming its rewards. With that in mind, it's worth taking a look at how to use this OHKO (one-hit KO) strategy.

To OHKO Grass Serperior in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet's 7-star raids, one of the best strategies involves powering up a Blaze Breed Paldean Tauros before slamming the boss with a devastating Flare Blitz attack. Below, you can find the required team to pull off this OHKO strategy.

Keep in mind that all participants are expected to have maximum IVs for the desired effect:

Blaze Breed Paldean TaurosAnger Point252 Atk, 252 Spd, 4 of any other statAdamantChoice BandFlare Blitz and any three other movesFire

With the team above, you're ready to beat Grass Tera Type Mighty Serperior in Tera Raids by using the following steps once you've entered the raid. Keep in mind that because this strategy uses four specifically built Pokemon, you'll need a team of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet trainers to give you a hand with the strategy by using the Pokemon outlined above:

  1. On Turn 1, the Koraidon should use Helping Hand on Paldean Tauros. This should be followed by Meowscarada using Flower Trick on Paldean Tauros, and Stonjourner should activate an attack cheer (Go All Out!).
  2. Once the Paldean Tauros player has received all three buffs from their team, they should attack with Flare Blitz. This should be enough to immediately defeat Serperior with a one-hit KO.

Thanks to the buffs provided by the Meowscarada, Stonjourner, and Koraidon, Paldean Tauros' Flare Blitz move gets supercharged and is already super effective against Grass-type Pokemon like Serperior.

The buffs and the Flare Blitz attack combined should be enough to deal approximately 10,482-12,332 damage, which would be anywhere from 102% to 121% of Serperior's boosted HP total as a raid boss.

This OHKO strategy is arguably one of the easiest in the game, so as long as you have built your team correctly and follow the steps outlined above, Serperior should fall quickly, allowing you to collect all the rewards you need with repeated raids.
