Primarina has become the creature of focus within the Pokemon GO community, thanks to the Popplio Community Day scheduled for August 31, 2024. The event gives Primarina access to the Hydro Cannon attack. While this feature has excited many players, others are wondering whether or not they will be able to find Primarina in its shiny form.
Community Days are known for introducing new shiny forms of beloved Pocket Monsters. However, there are still many critters yet to have their shiny forms added to the mobile game. This has led many trainers to wonder if Primarina's shiny variant will be available. Thankfully for them, there is a way to get it once the Popplio Community Day goes live.
How to get Primarina in Pokemon GO
With the Pokemon GO Popplio Community Day increasing the spawn rate of Primarina's pre-evolved form, players will have the best chance of obtaining the critter by catching a Popplio and evolving it with candy. However, they will need a fairly large amount of candy to reach this goal.
The upcoming event will feature a large amount of Popplio, in addition to its spawn rate being increased even further in the right weather, as well as with Incenses and Lure Modules. This means trainers patrolling a given area will have no trouble getting enough Popplio to spawn.
Players can also increase the amount of candy they get whenever they catch a Pokemon by using Pinap Berries. These items can be fed to wild Pocket Monsters, with their rewards benefiting the next capture attempt. This means if Popplio breaks out of a Pokeball after being fed a Pinap Berry, trainers will need to feed it another before attempting the catch again to receive the bonus.
Once players have collected 25 Popplio candy, they will be able to evolve Popplio into Brionne. After collecting 100, they will be able to evolve Brionne into Primarina.
Upon evolving into Primarina, the Pokemon will also automatically have the event-exclusive charged attack, Hydro Cannon.

Tips for getting shiny Primarina in Pokemon GO
There is currently no way to directly get a shiny Primarina in the wild in Pokemon GO. However, this could change if the creature ever returns to the game as a Three-Star Raid Boss. If it does, there is a likely chance that it will appear in its shiny form upon being encountered (after players win its raid).
Outside of this, the best way to get a shiny Primarina is to catch a shiny Popplio and evolve it. By using the spawn rate-boosting tactics discussed in the prior section, trainers can indirectly increase their odds of getting a shiny Popplio during the upcoming Community Day event by decreasing the time it would take for one to hypothetically spawn.
