Running back Zamir White of the Las Vegas Raiders has missed the last two games because of a groin ailment but seems to be trending in the right direction for Week 7.

White logged limited practice sessions on Wednesday and Thursday ahead of the Raiders' game against the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday. He managed a limited practice on Friday last week after missing out completely on Wednesday and Thursday. He appears to be improving from where he had left off last week based on the fact that he's practicing this week.

White now has a much better chance of suiting up against the Rams, as he improved his practice volume on Friday. It's important for White to get back to full fitness fast, as his RB1 role is under threat from Alexander Mattison.

Mattison was on the field for 68% of Las Vegas' snaps against the Pittsburgh Steelers last week. He scored one touchdown on the ground, while also making five receptions for 32 yards.

It's unknown if White will take over as the main back when he returns or if he slides in behind Mattison as the backup running back.

Zamir White injury update: Raiders' RB has received an injury designation for Week 7

Las Vegas Raiders RB Zamir White initially appeared on the injury list as the Raiders were getting ready to face the Denver Broncos in Week 5. He then missed an additional game against the Pittsburgh Steelers last week after making just one limited practice participation in the week leading up to the game.

White has returned two limited and one full practice involvements this week — he practiced fully on Friday. He has now been given a questionable tag on the Raiders' final injury report.

White's chances of playing against the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday has received a boost, as he was fully involved in practice on Friday, but he's ultimately expected to be a gametime decision.

In the unlikely event that White doesn't play, Ameer Abdullah could fill in as the Raiders' backup running back, with Alexander Mattison presumably remaining in that RB1 position.

Zamir White wasn't very valuable in fantasy football before he sustained the groin injury. With Mattison and him likely sharing the burden in the Raiders backfield going forward, White's appeal could only drop further.
