Yes, the Las Vegas Raiders will get compensatory picks in the 2023 NFL Draft. In fact, they have been awarded two compensatory picks, in a development announced by the league just yesterday.

The two Raiders' selections will be in the fifth round of the 2023 NFL Draft (No. 174) and the sixth round (No. 214). 30 total compensatory picks were awarded to 13 franchises for this year's draft.

Under the official rules for compensatory draft picks, a franchise losing more or better compensatory free agents ("CFA") than it gains in the previous year is eligible to receive select compensatory draft picks, up to four maximum. The level of compensation is determined by a formula based on salary, playing time and postseason honors.

With the formula, per the league, the Las Vegas Raiders' compensatory free agents lost in 2022 were Casey Hayward, Brandon Facyson, Marcus Mariota, Quinton Jefferson, Zay Jones, and Nicholas Morrow. While the CFAs gained in 2022 were Anthony Averett, Mack Hollins, Chandler Jones and Bilal Nichols.

The two additional picks bring Derek Carr's former franchise up to eleven draft selections when the league draft begins on April 27, 2023.

How did the Las Vegas Raiders perform in the 2022 NFL season?

The Las Vegas Raiders entered the 2022 NFL season with many expectations, and their fans were even dreaming of a dream run deep into playoffs. The team added a future Hall of Famer in former Green Bay wide receiver Davante Adams.

Adams joined a Pro Bowl-stacked offense that included the likes of Josh Jacobs at running back, Darren Waller at tight end, and Derek Carr at quarterback. Of course, the team looked good enough on paper to break into the postseason and make some noise!

However, the exact opposite was the case, as the Raiders had their worst NFL regular season in a while and were eliminated from postseason contention earlier than they would have liked.
