After seven productive seasons with the Los Angeles Chargers, Austin Ekeler joined the Washington Commanders as a free agent this offseason.

The Commanders lost running back Antonio Gibson, who signed with the New England Patriots in March, and replaced him with a veteran in Ekeler.

While Ekeler has never been named a Pro Bowler or All-Pro, he's been extremely productive in his NFL career. In seven seasons, he's recorded 4,355 rushing yards and has scored 39 rushing touchdowns. In the pass game, he has 440 receptions for 3,884 yards, and 30 receiving touchdowns.

Ekeler joined a backfield this offseason that is split between him and Brian Robinson.

During the Washington Commanders' Monday night victory against the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 3, Austin Ekeler left the game in the second half. According to coach Dan Quinn, Ekeler suffered a concussion and lacerated ear.

As a result of his Week 3 injury, Ekeler missed the Commanders' game last week against the Arizona Cardinals. While he missed just one game, Ekeler is back.

Dan Quinn said that Ekeler has cleared the concussion protocol and will be good to go for Sunday's game against the Cleveland Browns.

Nicki Jhabvala, reporter for the Washington Post posted to X, formerly known as Twitter:

"Dan Quinn said RB Austin Ekeler has cleared the concussion protocol and will be good for Sunday. He added that RB Brian Robinson is trending in the right direction, but he'll be a game-time decision."

Through the first four weeks of the 2024 NFL season, the Washington Commanders sit atop the NFC East division with a 3-1 record.

Led by the strong play of rookie sensation quarterback Jayden Daniels, the Commanders will look to win a fourth-straight game. Washington has earned three-straight wins over the New York Giants, Cincinnati Bengals and the Arizona Cardinals.

Looking to extend that win streak, the Commanders will face the 1-3 Cleveland Browns this Sunday. Kickoff is set for 1:00 p.m. EDT at Northwest Stadium in Landover, Maryland.

The Commanders are three-and-a-half point home favorites with the over/under for total points set at 43.5. Do you think the Commanders will improve to 4-1 on the season?
