As Super Bowl LVII is about to begin, President Joe Biden will break the recent tradition of sitting for an interview with the news network broadcasting the Super Bowl.
Following a weird exchange between the Biden administration and the television network, the White House announced that President Joe Biden would not agree to an interview with Fox prior to the Super Bowl.
On Friday morning, White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre announced that Fox Soul, a niche streaming service catering to African Americans, had canceled the administration's plans for an interview. Jean-Pierre, in a tweet on Friday said-
“The President was looking forward to an interview with Fox Soul to discuss the Super Bowl, the State of the Union, and critical issues impacting the everyday lives of Black Americans. We’ve been informed that Fox Corp. has asked for the interview to be cancelled,”
A few hours later, Fox announced that it would in fact interview the President and claimed that there had been a mix-up with the White House. Fox said that for the interview, its reporters had taken a flight from Los Angeles to Washington earlier in the day.
Fox claimed President Biden was scheduled to be interviewed by actress Vivica A. Fox, host of the Fox Soul program "Cocktails with Queens" and "Fox Soul's Screening Room," as well as Fox Soul contributor and personality Mike Hill.
However, the White House declared on Friday that the interview was still canceled. A White House spokesperson told CNN-
“As we said earlier, we had arranged an interview with Fox Sports Host Mike Hill & Vivica A. Fox with the President ahead of the Super Bowl, and Fox Corp had the interview canceled. Fox has since put out a statement indicating that the interview was rescheduled, which is inaccurate.”

Has Joe Biden ever been interviewed ahead of a Super Bowl Game?
Joe Biden previously took part in Super Bowl interviews with CBS and NBC news anchors when those networks, respectively, hosted the event in 2021 and 2022.
Fox News is the only White House-related television network with whom Biden has not had an interview. ABC, CBS, CNN, NBC, and PBS had previously interviewed him.
The Philadelphia Eagles and Kansas City Chiefs will square off at State Farm Stadium in Arizona for Super Bowl 2023. Super Bowl LVII is set for Sunday, February 12, at 6:30 p.m. ET.
