As we enter Week 15 of the NFL season, some teams will clinch a playoff spot as the regular season ends in a couple of weeks.
The Philadelphia Eagles became the first team in the NFL to clinch a spot with a victory over the New York Giants last week, improving to 12-1.
This Sunday, five NFL teams have the chance to clinch a playoff spot.
Here are the five teams in the NFL that can clinch a spot, and all of their possible scenarios:
#1 - Kansas City Chiefs
The Kansas City Chiefs can clinch the AFC West title in three scenarios, but could still clinch a playoff berth in three other scenarios.
The Chiefs can win the division if they simply win, or if the Chargers lose. The other way they could win the division this weekend is if the Chiefs and Chargers both tie this weekend.
KC can make a playoff berth with a tie + New York Jets loss + New England Patriots loss. Another way they could clinch a spot is if they tie + a Miami loss, New England loss and Jets tie. The last scenario they can clinch a spot is if KC ties + a Miami loss, Jets loss and a Patriots tie.
#2 - Buffalo Bills
The Buffalo Bills could clinch a playoff berth in four different scenarios this weekend. If they win, they clinch a spot. They can also get in with a tie plus a loss from the Chargers. Another way they can clinch is a tie + Jets loss and New England loss. The last way that they can get in is if they tie + the Jets lose, New England ties and a Chargers tie.
#3 - Dallas Cowboys
The Dallas Cowboys have five different ways they can clinch a playoff spot. The first way is if they win, they're in.
They can also clinch with a Seahawks loss + a Washington loss, or a Seahawks and Detroit loss. They can also clinch with a tie + a Seahawks loss. The last of the five scenarios that could get them into the playoffs is if Dallas ties and the Washington/Giants game don't end in a tie.
#4 - Minnesota Vikings
The Minnesota Vikings can get into the playoffs by winning the NFC North in two different ways. If Minnesota wins or ties, they will win the division. They can also win the division with a Detroit loss or tie.
#5 - San Francisco 49ers
The San Francisco 49ers have the simplest playoff scenario of all five teams. If they win Sunday, they will win the NFC West. This is the only playoff scenario the Niners have.
The NFL is unpredictable, and teams go on late runs many times to end the season. Some teams also have late-season collapses, and could fall out of playoff contention.
