When do the NFL Playoffs start for the 2022-23 season? 

As we enter the second half of the regular season, the NFL Playoffs are also nearing. The playoffs, also commonly known as the postseason, will begin after Week 18.

The playoffs for the 2022-23 season will begin on January 14, 2023. It will continue until the AFC and NFC Conference Championship games on January 29, 2023. The postseason is a single-elimination tournament held to determine which teams will make it to the Super Bowl. A total of 14 teams will qualify for the playoffs.

NFL Playoffs for 2022-23 season: Format and Schedule

Seven teams from the AFC and seven from the NFC will make the playoffs. The top seeds from the AFC and NFC conferences after the regular season will have a first-round bye.

The four division champions from each conference will be seeded one through four based on their overall record. Three Wild Card qualifiers from each conference (teams with the best overall record from the remaining teams in the conference) will be seeded at five, six, and seven.

The NFL Playoffs will begin with the Wild Card round. Here, the second-seeded division winner hosts the seventh-seeded wild card, the third hosts the sixth, and the fourth hosts the fifth. The winners of each game will make it to the second round of the playoffs.

Two Wild Card games will be played on Saturday, January 14, 2023, three games on Sunday, January 15, and one game on Monday night, January 16.

Eight teams will then make it to the Divisional Round and the four games will be played across Saturday, January 21, and Sunday, January 22.

The four remaining teams will then play in the Conference Championships on Sunday, January 29. The two teams to win their respective Conference Championships will then meet at the Super Bowl on Sunday, February 12, 2023.
