Week 7 Fantasy Football Buy Low Sell High Trade Targets feat. Garrett Wilson, Kareem Hunt and more

Week 7 inches us ever closer to the midway point of the fantasy season. What that means is we now have a firm grasp on what our teams really look like. Who is an every-week starter who we can depend on in certain matchups? Which guys were overdrafted and are now bench players?

It’s also the most injury-plagued season I can remember. Receivers and running backs are dropping like flies, which makes having bench depth even more important. When you get to the playoffs, you want the best starting lineup. But, to get there, we need depth to navigate byes and injured players.

Let’s look at players I’m selling high and buying low on this week. For your rosters, this isn’t a one-size-fits-all approach. You need to calculate your specific needs. By this point of the season, you know who you can count on and what needs to be upgraded. If you need help deciding on a trade, use Sportskeeda’s FREE Fantasy Football Trade Analyzer.

Players To Buy Low On

1] Garrett Wilson (WR, NYJ)

The Wilson owner is likely still in mourning over his top-15 pick getting usurped by Davante Adams. The Jets traded for Aaron Rodgers' former BFF, and now Wilson is the outsider, or is he?

Fantasy Twitter will have you believe Wilson has underperformed his draft value. A deeper dive shows Wilson is WR 7 in total points. That’s elite. So why is everyone so bummed about Wilson?

We expected overall WR 1 numbers. That simply isn’t happening. Do you know why? To this point, the Jets have seen defenses double- and triple-team Wilson on nearly every play. With Adams in town, defenses can no longer focus solely on Wilson.

New York will play an incredibly easy pass schedule in the coming weeks. He could see the second-best corner from the Colts, Cardinals, Bills, Rams, and Raiders. He can exploit that stretch of defenses and help you push for the fantasy playoffs.

2] Jalen Hurts (QB, PHI)

This is the definition of buying low. Hurts was one of the first quarterbacks drafted this summer. Currently, he’s QB 9 in average points per game. Here’s why I’m buying the Eagles signal caller: schedule and surrounding cast.

To this point, Hurts has played just two games with both A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith both in the lineup. In those contests, Hurts combined for 542 passing yards and four touchdowns.

Philly’s upcoming schedule is incredible for their passing game. They’ll face the Giants, Bengals, Jaguars, Commanders, and Rams. Hurts won’t face a stout pass defense until he sees Pittsburgh in Week 15. Even better, he’s past his bye week. Go trade for Jalen Hurts!

3] Brian Robinson Jr. (RB, WAS)

Last week, Robinson missed the Commanders game due to a knee injury. Based on practice reports this week, he should return. Either way, he’s a screaming buy.

The Washington offense is on fire. They rank as the number-one scoring offense in the league. Robinson has contributed five of those scores himself. While his yardage can fluctuate weekly (two games over 100 yards and three games under 40), he’s the main ball carrier and goal-line threat for the first-place Commanders.

Washington also leads the league in rushing touchdowns thanks to their duel-threat rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels. That fear of Daniels running near the end zone opens up lanes for Robinson to do damage.

Use the fact he was out of sight and mind of his owner last week to make a lower-than-market offer. This week, their opponent, the Panthers, allows the most points to opposing running backs.

Players I’m Selling High

1] Tyrone Tracy Jr. (RB, NYG)

I’m a huge fan of Tracy. He’s incredibly talented, and the Giants would be dumb to fade this kid. But this is the Giants we’re talking about. They paid Devin Singletary top-of-the-market money in free agency to lead their offense. Head coach Brian Daboll has a long history with Singletary, which makes it even more worrisome that he would bench his veteran back.

Tracy’s value will never be higher. He’s coming off two games where he’s averaged 7.2 yards per carry. He’s the RB 6 in PPR over that span. That simply won’t continue with Singletary returning. Sell Tracy to someone desperate for a running back.

2] Kareem Hunt (RB, KC)

It’s a great story, albeit from a guy with a horrible past. Hunt had a monster workload in Week 5. He carried 27 times for 102 yards. That’s insane for a guy who was on the couch just a few weeks prior. Here’s the problem: Hunt is 29 years old. He’s not going to sustain a workload like this going forward.

The practice window was opened on Clyde Edwards-Helaire, who began the year as the Chiefs number two back. It’s not crazy to think Isaih Pacheco could return within a month. You can likely get another week out of Hunt, but I’m looking to sell before the bottom falls out.

3] Brian Thomas Jr. (WR, JAX)

There is no question that Thomas is a stud and future fantasy superstar. What I’m selling on is the fact that the Jags are a mess. Head coach Doug Pederson will likely get fired sooner rather than later. Also, we saw the return in Week 6 of tight end Evan Engram.

That zapped targets from Thomas, who saw 8, 9, and 9 targets in the prior three weeks. Engram provides another mouth to feed to a low-octane passing offense led by Trevor Lawrence. This a perfect opportunity to move Thomas for a high-end asset before the wheels totally fall off in Jacksonville.
