Almost two months after Derek Carr took to social media to post his goodbye to Las Vegas, the quarterback has found his next home. Various reporters claim that despite an apparent interest in the New York Jets, the quarterback will be joining the New Orleans Saints.

The news has set off a chain reaction of fans celebrating or panicking, with Jets admirers doing the latter. Here's a look at what they're saying:

The Raiders quarterback could join a team that is coming off a 7-10 season under head coach Dennis Allen. 2022 was the team's first year without Sean Payton since 2005. With Payton and Brees out of the picture, the team will be attempting to regain dominance in the division with Tom Brady out of the picture.

As it stands, the Saints now have Derek Carr at quarterback. The Carolina Panthers are still exploring their options for their next guy. The Atlanta Falcons are set to trot out Desmond Ridder. Many would argue that with the signing, the Saints now possibly have the best quarterback in the division.

The team's new quarterback hasn't thrown for less than 20 touchdowns in a season since 2018 and is only one season removed from reaching the playoffs in 2021. After nabbing what could be the biggest free agent of the offseason, many are thinking about how the move affects other teams.

The new Saints quarterback's decision ends a period of teams competing for Derek Carr and Aaron Rodgers. Since the Super Bowl wrapped up, pundits, fans, and general managers have been fixated on the sweepstakes. Now, with the former Raiders quarterback out of the picture, Aaron Rodgers' choices have gotten a bit more narrow.

Now, if the quarterback is indeed done with the Packers, he won't need to compete with Carr to win over the team. Basically, for the Jets, it appears that their option would be Rodgers or a big drop-off to other veterans or a return to the NFL Draft. Of course, if they do end up with Rodgers, they may also draft a rookie to learn behind him.

That said, they'll need to get him first. No. 12 hasn't made a decision on his future, despite taking the now infamous darkness retreat. The Packers have reportedly set March 15th as the goal for finding a resolution to the situation. However, with Derek Carr off the board, many are wondering if the team will move up their timeline.
