Tyler Goodson has become an intriguing option for fantasy managers in recent weeks when his role with his team got considerably bigger. Jonathan Taylor's health issues continue and there's no clear answer when he will be back on the field with the Indianapolis Colts. Trey Sermon has been inactive too, leaving the door open for Goodson to take over his team's backfield.

After Taylor missed the last two days of practice, Goodson has become an attractive alternative for many. This is our analysis on whether you should consider starting Goodson this weekend.

Tyler Goodson fantasy outlook for Week 7

Tyler Goodson is coming off the best game of his 2024 season, picking up 6.5 fantasy points off eight carries for 51 rushing yards against the Tennesse Titans. In his past three games, he's carried the ball 13 times and rushed for 77 yards and zero touchdowns.

ESPN projects Goodson to have a solid day against the struggling Miami Dolphins, predicting eight carries for 36 yards for him, as well as one reception for 10 receiving yards and 7.72 fantasy points.

Even though he's not the most spectacular option, he's worth taking the chance as an RB3 with RB2 upside. The Colts will have Anthony Richardson back on Sunday, meaning Goodson's touches could decrease.

Either way, he should be considered a starting candidate for several teams trying to add players who can contribute, not change the course of fantasy matchups.

Jonathan Taylor offers update on his injury

With Tyler Goodson getting ready to play on Sunday, Jonathan Taylor is still trying to find his way back to the league. Before Thursday's practice session, he updated on his health.

“We’ve been progressing every single day,” Taylor said, via Wish TV. “Just pushing myself, just trying to find a way to get the pain out.”

After dealing with an ankle injury for the second straight season, Taylor spoke about his motivation to return to he field.

“Just keeping the end goal in mind, that’s what’s been fueling me,” Taylor said. “The fans, my teammates, coaches, that’s just what’s been fueling me to try and continue to chop this down to get back on the field, because it really sucks.”

The Colts have found intriguing running back options in recent years and Tyler Goodson is certainly one of them.
