Clearly some NFL teams got the memo that they need to liven things up a little heading into Week 7. We saw more than a couple of trades this week.

Yes, the biggest one was Davante Adams moving to the New York Jets (who could've seen that coming?). Amari Cooper being dealt to the Buffalo Bills was also a pretty interesting one, but you may have missed the deal that sent Houston Texans runinng back Cam Akers back to the Minnesota Vikings.

With lead running back Aaron Jones dealing with a hip injury, what does Cam Akers' fantasy outlook look like for Week 7?

Since Joe Mixon missed some time, the Houston Texans quickly pivoted to Cam Akers who has been decent so far.

The Week 6 game agains the New England Patriots aside, Akers filled in admirably and also had a rushing touchdown against the Buffalo Bills in Week 5. But he will join a Vikings team that already has a big-play threat in Ty Chandler.

The Vikings were on a bye in Week 6, but Week 5 was a pretty eventful one for Minnesota. Aaron Jones suffered a hip injury early in the game, which meant that we saw a lot of Chandler, who had 16 touches and rushed for 30 yards on 14 carries in a 32-17 win over the New York Jets.

Akers was a useful backup for Joe Mixon, but it's difficult to see him getting a lot of work in the Vikings backfield, especially considering that Jones' injury isn't a long-term one.

Cam Akers' fantasy outlook for the rest of the season

Aaron Jones has easily been among the most impressive running backs this season after an offseason switch from the Green Bay Packers to the Minnesota Vikings.

Several eyebrows were raised when the Packers let Jones go, but eventually Green Bay had eyes on Josh Jacobs, who hasn't been the most impressive RB in the league but doesn't look altogether out of place either.

For the Vikings, even with Sam Darnold keeping the offense ticking, coach Kevin O'Connell will need the running backs to get off to a solid start, if nothing else than to stave off some pressure on Darnold.

Jones played a big part in that game plan, but Chandler has been a more than able deputy for the former Packer. Chandler has flashed some big-play ability and would have had a big night against the Jets in London if it weren't for two big plays being called back by penalties.

If Jones, who was spotted on the practice field on Tuesday, fails to suit up, Cam Akers will see some work. But it's going to be difficult for the former Texans RB to squeeze out some game time in the backfield if Jones is up and running.
