Quarterback Tom Brady is playing his 23rd season in the NFL and his third with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Brady led the Buccaneers to a 21-15 win in the Week 5 game against the Atlanta Falcons, which proved costly for the seven-time Super Bowl champion.

The NFL has punished Tom Brady for allegedly trying to kick Falcons pass rusher Grady Jarrett twice in last week's game. For the past few days, the NFL has been determining whether to put a fine on Tom Brady.

Although there have been two instances where the star quarterback was seen kicking the pass rusher, he has been found guilty of just one of them. According to NFL insider Jonathan Jones, the NFL has fined Brady $11,139 for the kick.

The fine for kicking an opponent in the NFL is $11,139, and that is the price Brady has to pay.

If there was a second offense, then he would have been fined $16,444. Brady got lucky and was only fined for kicking Grady Jarrett in the fourth quarter.

The NFL fined the quarterback because of how he reacted after the hit made by Jarrett in the fourth quarter. On Sunday, Jarrett's sack garnered attention because, after knocking Brady to the ground on a third-down play, he was given a controversial roughing the passer penalty. The Falcons never recovered the ball after the Buccaneers got a free first down.

If you look at the video closely, Brady attempted to kick Jarrett during the first quarter. It was harmless and the NFL did not think it to be a violation of the rules.

In the fourth quarter, Jarrett again sacked Tom Brady and this time you could see his right leg going towards Jarrett's midsection.

Tom Brady is not known for foul play in the game. Moreover, the last time he was fined was way back in 2013, when he kicked Baltimore Ravens safety Ed Reed during the AFC Championship Game. He was fined $10,000 by the NFL on that occasion.

The 45-year-old Brady came out of his short 40-day retirement earlier this year to play his third season with the Buccaneers. Brady announced his retirement after the 2021 season, so he can spend some quality time with the family.

He soon made a comeback as he realized he was not done yet and had some unfinished business in the league.
