What did Skip Bayless say on NFL owners? 'Undisputed' co-host risks NFL’s ire with latest comments

Super Bowl XLI - On The Set of ESPN - February 1, 2007
Bayless had some interesting thoughts on why Eric Bieniemy isn't a head coach

Analyst Skip Bayless is never afraid to speak his mind. For better or worse, his takes can often irk some people and send social media into a meltdown.

His latest might just do that. Fox Sports' "Undisputed" risen in popularity for some, and it is because of Bayless and people's want to see what the next outlandish thing he will say will be.

On "Undisputed," the topic was Kansas City offensive coordinator Eric Eric Bieniemy's inability to secure a head coaching job despite being a prime candidate for years.

Bayless said via TMZ.com:

"These older white owners just aren’t that comfortable with a Black head coach, because they need to interact, they need to go to dinner with the wives or the (significant others) or whatever.
"(White owners are) just not that comfortable. When they do have an interview, it’s gonna be a quicker click with a young white hot candidate."

It is certainly odd that with Bieniemy's resume and what he has done in Kansas City with Patrick Mahomes since 2018 that includes two Super Bowls and numerous AFC championship game appearances, that he is still being overlooked for a head-coaching role.

However, many point to a string of instances when Bieniemy was a star at the University of Colorado and as an assistant coach there as reasons franchises are wary.

Bayless no stranger to controversy

The "Undisputed" co-host is no stranger to controversy with his opinions and he isn't afraid to tell it how he sees it. A die-hard Dallas Cowboys fan, most people are irked by Bayless for that and that alone.

But there have been other instances when people have shook their heads at what has transpired.

He took a personal shot at Shannon Sharpe, his co-host, as they were debating Tom Brady and we can't forget his tweet about Damar Hamlin after the Buffalo Bills safety collapsed on the field as he suffered a cardiac arrest.

It seems like every time he is on television or tweets, that people can be triggered by what he says.

It remains to be seen if his comments surrounding NFL owners and Eric Bieniemy will do the same.
