The San Francisco 49ers have been dealing with the absence of Christian McCaffrey for a while now. The superstar running back has tendinitis in his Achilles tendon and has been missing games ever since Week 2 due to this injury, even seeing a specialist in Germany to recover from the issue.

In his place, former undrafted running back Jordan Mason is playing - and doing a good job with it. Although he's not McCaffrey, who's borderline irreplaceable, at least he has kept the offense afloat with some good runs. But things could be going south for the Niners in a hurry.

Mason left their Thursday Night Football game against the Seattle Seahawks with a shoulder injury in what felt like a routine tackle. He was wringing in pain and stayed on the ground for a while before going to the locker room on his own.

Minutes later, he was officially considered questionable to return to the game, but it seems that the team avoided a bigger issue as he sprinted back from the locker room to rejoin his teammates.

49ers start hot against the Seahawks, open 16-0 before halftime

The San Francisco 49ers started the game against the Seattle Seahawks in the best possible way. After creating a turnover on the first drive, the 49ers scored on three different possessions, creating a big advantage right at the start of the game.

The key play for coach Kyle Shanahan's team involved a pass from Brock Purdy to Deebo Samuel that ended in a long touchdown. Samuel made the catch, avoided Julian Love's tackle and was off to the races. Seahawks defender Boye Mafe tried to get to him but didn't have enough speed, and Deebo reached the end zone.

On the next play after the touchdown, Seattle's woes continued after a kickoff fumble, which gave the ball to San Francisco in excellent field position. The Niners took advantage of the opportunity and scored a field goal to take the score to 13-0. Later, another good drive had the 49ers stalled in the red zone one more time with three field goals to make it 16-0.

Even though the Seahawks made a strong comeback in the second part of the game, San Francisco held on to win the matchup 36-24.
