Aaron Jones’ probable injury could be a setback for an otherwise wonderful outing for the Minnesota Vikings in London on Sunday morning. The running back is on the sidelines and won't be returning to the field.

The New York Jets have been completely dominated by the Vikings at the Northumberland Development Project in London. After scoring 10 points in the first quarter, the Vikings looked poised to extend their lead throughout the quarter. However, they faced adversity before that.

Aaron Jones kept limping on the sidelines and did not participate in the next drive. After that, the RB was sent to the blue medical tent for further evaluation and treatment. There are concerns that the 29-year-old may have injured his hip.

Though questionable to return earlier, Jones was ruled out shortly after halftime.

The Pro Bowler had previously injured his hip in the Week 2 game against the San Francisco 49ers as well. However, in the short term, the Vikings did not miss their speedster. The Vikings scored a TD in his absence to extend their lead 17-0 over the Jets. The first half ends with the Vikings leading 17-7.

Aaron Jones injury history

The former Green Bay Packers running back has dealt a fair share of injuries in his career. Aaron Jones suffered MCL strains in both his right and left leg in his rookie season, causing him to miss three games in total.

In 2020, the RB suffered a calf strain causing him to miss a couple of games. Same season, he suffered a rib injury in the NFC Championship game as well and exited early.

Last year, Jones suffered a hamstring injury which caused him to sit on the bench for three games. However, in the Week 2 game against the Niners, Jones pushed through despite being injured and continued the entire game.

The Vikings fans would want a similar resolute from Jones this week as well. If not they’d want their man to be 100% fit for the Week 7 clash, since the Vikings enjoy a bye week after the Jets game.
